We are in the midst of unprecedented global financial turmoil. The major casualties of the near-meltdown of 2008 (AIG, RBS, HBOS) were firms which were previously admired for their vision, growth, security and profitability. Their demise posed a number of important questions of the financial institutions, including insurers, which often came back to the same issue;
"Can you be sure that any insurer or bank will still be around in 12 months?"
Whilst we cant guarantee who the winners and losers might be, we have at least made provisions. We are careful with where we place cover, and have an insurer Failsafe in place. We hope that we never have to utilise this facility, but it has happened before.
Should your insurer become insolvent or cease trading during your period of cover, we have an agreement in place whereby your policy is immediately replaced with another insurer. No questions asked.
